O R D E R

1.This writ petition has been filed by the petitioners, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant the second petitioner a suitable employment on compassionate grounds, by considering the second petitioner's representation dated 16.09.2019.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner's father late R.Arjunan, who was working as J.T.A(Drilling) in the Geological Survey of India, died in harness on 26.03.2014, leaving his wife and the petitioner herein as his legal heirs, since the sole breadwinner of the family had died, the mother of the petitioner made a representation to the third representation on 19.09.2016, requesting to provide employment to her son and she also made another representation on 22.05.2019 to the second respondent also. But, there was no reply. While so, the second respondent by letter dated 23.08.

2019, informed the petitioner that no Compassionate Appointment Committee (CAC) for Southern region has been constituted since the year 2015, his case has been kept pending and as and when, approval for the compassionate appointment is received from the Competent Authority, he would be provided with employment. The petitioner made a representation on 16.09.2019 to the first respondent seeking to provide compassionate appointment. The grievance of the petitioner is that despite the representation, there was no action forthcoming from the respondents. Hence the petitioner is constrained to approach this Court by way of filing the present writ petition.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that after demise of the father of the petitioner, representations have been made from time to time to the respondents, but there was no action taken by the respondents. Since it was informed that no Compassionate Appointment Committee (CAC) for Southern region has been constituted from 2015 onwards which Committee has to deal with the appointments on compassionate grounds. Therefore, the learned counsel would implore this Court to give appropriate direction for the respondents to constitute the Committee and to provide employment on compassionate grounds to the petitioner. 4.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents conceded to the request as submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.

The learned counsel would submit that if this Court directs the respondents to consider the dispose of the representation made by the petitioner, the same would be complied with and the representation would be disposed of in accordance with law. 5.

petitioner's representation dated 16.09.2019, on merits and in accordance with law, and provide employment on compassionate grounds as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of twelve weeks (12) from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs. Consequentially, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
