ORDER

This Suo Motu case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by this Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.)No.618 of 2025.

2. This case is registered in Cr. No. 1341 of 2021 dated 02.11.2021, for the alleged offence(s) under Section 294A of IPC, 1860 and Section 7(3) of the Lotteries Regulation Act, 1998, regarding the allegation selling Kerala Page No.1 of 3

lottery by noting down the serial numbers.

3. Considering the nature of the allegation and the accused facing the case since 2021, further continuation of the trial would impinge upon the right to a speedy trial of the accused. Continuing with the case would serve no useful purpose.

4. Accordingly S.T.C.No.106 of 2022 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Villupuram Taluk, Villupuram, stands quashed and the Suo Motu Transfer case is disposed of.

The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
