... Respondents This case came up for settlement before the Lok Adalat. Both parties present. N.C.Ashok Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.N. Paul Sundar Singh, Standing counsel for the respondents are present. After mutual discussion and negotiation between both parties they arrived at a compromise to settle the matter as follows : (i) The petitioner Dr.M.Somasundaram challenged the Water and Sewage charges raised by the respondent.
(ii) Both the parties having initiated negotiation successfully arrived at a settlement of all the issues arisen in this case. Both the parties have also entered into a joint memo of compromise and filed the same before the Lok Adalat. The petitioner has paid a sum of Rs.6,23,501/- towards water and sewage charges for the period from January 2019 to April 2024. The above payment made by the petitioner towards water and sewage charges was accepted by the respondents herein. Both the the parties made a formal request to the lok adalat to pass an award in terms of the above settlement.
(iii) As the petitioner has paid a sum of Rs. 6,23,501/- as per the settlement arrived at between the parties on 14.06.2025, the writ petition stands disposed of. (iv) The Court fee paid by the petitioner be refunded. 2/5
