O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondent police to register the FIR based on the complaint given by the petitioner dated 03.09.2022.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the respondent.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was married one Nagaraj on 16.6.2021 at Gangai Amman Temple, Gandhi Nagar, Tondiarpet; subsequent to the marriage, the petitioner and her husband were living together at the house of the husband; but, their matrimonial life did not go peacefully; since her husband was demanding dowry from the petitioner and she was being ill-treated by him, she had given a complaint against him to the respondent police and on which, a current paper enquiry has been initiated in C.S.R No.181 of 2022 on 17.09.2022.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that on the complaint given by 2/5

the petitioner, so far no fruitful action has been taken.

5. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that on the undertaking given by the husband that they had settled their disputes in the Family Court and also considered the nature of the dispute between the couples, the respondent police had closed the petition temporarily.

6. Now, the petitioner has stated that her husband continues to harass her. Hence, I feel it is appropriate to direct the respondent police to open the enquiry in C.S.R No.181 of 2022 and make further enquiries and do the needful in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is also at liberty to give a fresh representation to the respondent police for further action in this regard.

7. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
