ORDER
With the consent of both the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner herein is the legally wedded wife of late M.Nedumaran, who seeks for family pension. Her husband who had worked as a Special Sub Inspector of Police, Virugambakkam Traffic Police Station, Greater Chennai, died on 15.07.2023. Since the pension papers have not been processed till date, the petitioner has given a representation dated 06.10.2023. For non-consideration of the representation, the present Writ Petition has been filed. 2/4

Today, when the matter was heard, learned Special Government Pleader produced a copy of the proceedings of the Joint Commissioner of Police, Chennai, dated 11.10.2023, which states that for the purpose of processing the pension papers, the petitioner has to make an application through the Inspector of the Police Station, in which her husband has lastly worked, together with the legal heirship certificate.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that they are willing to send such an application enclosing legal heirship certificate.
5. Accordingly, the petitioner is granted liberty to make an application to the Inspector of the Police Station, in which her husband has lastly worked, enclosing a copy of the legal heirship certificate. On receipt of the same, the first respondent shall consider the same on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of an application from the concerned Police Station.
