This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking direction to the 1/4
respondent police to implement the order dated 24.11.2022 passed by the XVII Metropolitan Magistrate, Saidapet, Chennai and to file the final report within the stipulated period.

The Judicial Magistrate direction under Section 156(3) Cr.P.C., was passed on 24.11.2022, since there was no progress on the direction, this Court directed the respondent police to file status report regarding the delay in complying the Court direction.

Mr.P.Hariharan, Inspector of Police, R-3, Ashok Nagar Police Station, Crime, Chennai has filed the status report, wherein, it is stated that for the past one year, there had been three Inspector of police and due to frequent change of Station House Officer, direction of the Magistrate could not be complied immediately. However, now the case has been registered in Crime No.264 of 2023 for the offence under Sections 465, 468 471 & 420 IPC and taken up for investigation. Further, it is stated by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) that since the matter is in respect of documents and forgery of the documents, need some time to complete the 2/4
investigation.

Recording the submissions and the information furnished in the status report, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation preferably within a period of four weeks from today.
