The petitioner seeks bail in Crime No.480 of 2023 registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act, and he had been taken into custody on 15.09.2023.

2. It is seen that the 2nd accused, to whom the petitioner was transporting ganja, is still absconding. The petitioner was found in possession of 4.400 kgs of ganja. As stated, he was transporting the said ganja to the 2nd accused, who is still absconding.

3. In view of that particular fact and since the investigation can never even start, at this stage, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 20.10.2023 ata C.V.KARTHIKEYAN , J.
