The petitioner seeks a writ of Mandamus forbearing the Electricity Board from granting service connection to any person in respect of the property belonging to the petitioner Wakf situate in Survey No.358, Railway Station Road, Tirupattur, Vellore District, measuring a little more than 3 hectares. It is the contention of the petitioner that the property belongs to the petitioner Mosque and a portion of it has been encroached 2/5
upon. The encroachers are attempting to get electricity connection for the encroached property. Contending that encroachers cannot be favoured with a service connection, the petitioner seeks a writ of mandamus.
2. Ms.V.Revathi, representing Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, Standing Counsel for respondents would upon instructions submit that the respondents/Corporation has not received any application seeking service connection in that area.
3. The statement of the learned counsel for the respondents/Corporation is recorded and the Writ Petition is disposed of as unnecessary. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
