COMMON ORDER These Criminal Original Petitions have been filed seeking to quash the First Information Reports in Crime No.228 of 2019 for the alleged offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 354-B, 448 and 506(ii) IPC and in Crime No.185 of 2019 for the alleged offence under Sections 34 and 420 IPC.
2.Today, when the matters are taken up for hearing, the learned counsels for the petitioner and the second respondent submitted that parties in both the petitions have arrived at a settlement and the second respondent in both the petitions have decided to withdraw the allegations in the impugned First Information Reports and prayed for quashing of the First Information Reports on the basis of the Joint Compromise Memo. 3.Both the parties are present today and have signed the Joint Memo of Compromise along with their learned counsels. The said Joint Memo of Compromise is taken on record. In view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, there would be no useful purpose in keeping the proceedings on the file of the 1st respondent Police pending. 3/5
Hence, the impugned First Information Reports in Crime No.228 of 2019 and Crime No.185 of 2019 on the file of the 1st respondent are quashed.
4.With the above observations, these Criminal Original Petitions are allowed. Consequently, connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
