Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing second respondent herein to dispose of petitioner's appeal dated 26.06.2024 to issue patta in favour of the petitioner's "Grama Nattam" land situated in S.No.141/3, at No.5, Palpannai Salai (Vedantha Murugappa Naicken Street), Parvathi Nagar, Selavoil, Chennai - 600 051 to an extent of 1194 sq.ft as per the petitioner's representation dated 12.09.2024.

O R D E R

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to dispose of her appeal dated 26.06.2024.

2. By consent of both the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as respondents, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that she submitted an application seeking issuance of patta in respect of "Grama Nattam" land situated in S.No.141/3, Door No.5, Palpannai Salai (Vedantha Murugappa Naicken Street), Parvathi Nagar, Selavoil, Chennai - 600 051. The representation submitted by the petitioner seeking issuance of patta was rejected by the third respondent vide order dated 19.05.2023. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner filed an appeal before the second respondent on 26.06.2024. The said appeal has been pending without any progress. Therefore, the petitioner is before 2/5

this Court.

4. Mr.P.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents would submit that the respondents are awaiting framing of guideline from the Government to consider the request made by the petitioner to issue patta in respect of "Grama Nattam" land in metro area.

5. In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the second respondent to consider the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 26.06.2024 and pass final orders, after issuing notice to all interested parties, as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
