(Order of the Court was delivered by V.M.VELUMANI,J.) Writ Petition is filed directing the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai to hear and dispose of O.A.No.99 of 2020 filed by the petitioner on the file of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai, on any early date, within the time fixed by this Court.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as learned Senior Panel Counsel appearing for the 1st respondent and perused the entire materials on record.

3.Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that initially the petitioner was included in the panel of the year 2013-2014 for the promotion to the post of Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise. Subsequently, the 2nd respondent issued another order including him in the panel of the year 2015-2016 for the post of Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise. The petitioner is loosing his chance of 2/4

further promotion and hence, he filed O.A.No.99 of 2020 before the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai. In the said O.A., the pleadings are completed on 20.02.2020 itself. Inspite O.A.No.99 of 2020 is ripe for argument, it is adjourned from time to time for paucity of time. The petitioner is aged 56 years and is loosing his chance of being promoted as Principal Commissioner.

4.Considering the above submissions, the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai is directed to consider O.A.No.99 of 2020 pending on its file and dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible, in any event, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
