The petitioner apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for 1/4
the alleged offences punishable under Sections 296(b), 115(2), 118(1) & 351(3) of BNS, 2023 in Crime No.190 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent police.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner herein is alleged to have assaulted the defacto complainant for removing him from the WhatsApp group.
3. Heard the learned counsels on both sides and perused the materials available on record.
4. This Court, on perusing the complaint finds that the defacto complainant was an admin in the WhatsApp group named "Namavom Namanai Anjom", in which the first accused is the son-in-law of the defacto complainant. It appears that a manpower agency under this group was functioning and in this regard on 12.08.2025, the defacto complainant and the petitioners attacked each other. It is a case and case in counter registered by the respondent police in Crime No.189 of 2025 and another in Crime No.190 of 2025. This petition is filed seeking anticipatory bail in connection with Crime No.190 of 2025.
5. This Court on perusal of records, finds that this is a matter where the 2/4
respondent police should secure the persons involved and conduct a proper investigation. If the anticipatory bail is granted, there is every possibility of screening of evidence. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 26.08.2025 drl To 1.The Judicial Magistrate No.II, Thiruvallur.
