4 S.Karthikeyan ... Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 29.09.2023 in accordance with law.

For Petitioner : Mr.G.V.Sridharan 1/4

For Respondents : Ms.Keerthana Shenoi (R1 to R3) for Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh Standing Counsel

O R D E R

Ms.Keerthana Shenoi, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for the respondents and is armed with instructions to enable final disposal of this Writ petition, even at the stage of admission. In light of the order that is proposed to be passed, no notice is thought necessary at this juncture to the private respondent/R4.

2. The petitioner seeks a mandamus simplicitor directing respondents 1 to 3, who are officials of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) to consider and dispose his representation dated 29.09.2023.

3. Normally, this Court is not inclined to issue mandamus, if the representation is filed so proximate to the filing of the Writ Petition. However, learned counsel for the petitioner brings to my notice the earlier representations that have been made before other authorities, including the District Collector, also seeking the same relief.

4. Hence, it appears that the petitioner has been approaching different authorities for the same relief but has not been able to obtain an audience before any authority thus far.

5. Ms.Keerthana Shenoi, learned counsel would assure the Court that R3 will consider and dispose the representation of the petitioner in accordance with law and with the prevailing Rules and Regulations, expeditiously.

6. Hence, mandamus is issued to R3/Assistant Engineer, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Kundrathur Main Road, Kovur to hear the petitioner as well as R4 and any others who are thought fit and necessary, consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.09.2023 and dispose the same in accordance with law, within a period of six (6) weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. This Writ Petition is disposed as above. No costs. sl 31.10.2023 Index : Yes / No Speaking Order 3/4
