PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to ensure necessary protection for conducting the yearly festival in A/m.Shri Mariamman and Vinayagar Temples, Vinaitheerthapuram, Kallakurichi Taluk and District, in compliance with the order made in Na. Ka. A3 / 3765 / 2024 dated 27.08.2024 and the proceedings dated 01.09.2024 issued by the respondents 1 and 3 respectively.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to ensure necessary protection for conducting the yearly festival in A/m.Shri Mariamman and Vinayagar Temples, Vinaitheerthapuram, Kallakurichi Taluk and District, in compliance with the order made in Na. Ka. A3 / 3765 / 2024 dated 27.08.2024 and the proceedings dated 01.09.2024 issued by the respondents 1 and 3 respectively.

2. Heard and perused the materials available on record.

3. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the writ petition, the fourth respondent is directed to conduct enquiry if any representation is received from the petitioners seeking police protection to conduct yearly festival in A/m.Shri Mariamman and Vinayagar Temples, Vinaitheerthapuram, Kallakurichi Taluk and District, after issuance of notice to the petitioners and the respondents 5 to 9 herein, pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition petition is disposed of. No costs.
