ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to remove the petitioner's name in the history-sheet in H.S.No.66/2023 being maintained by the third respondent, in pursuant to the petitioner's representation, dated 22.07.2024.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that there are six previous cases registered and pending against the petitioner. There are three cases pending from 2023 and one case is pending from 2012 and another case is pending from 2018. Even in 2024, a case is pending against him. The offences alleged against the petitioner are under Sections 294(b), 326 and 506 (Part 2) IPC, read with Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, and as there are more than 5 cases pending and registered against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to give any positive order as prayed for in this Writ Petition.

4. Hence, this petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. 27.11.2024 cs 2 / 4
