ORDER

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking a Writ of Certiorari, to call for the records on the file of the 2nd respondent in proceedings No.K.No.ChePo/O & M/Che/tho.Nu U1 Ko.Mi.Thu/A. No.325/22 dated 19.10.2022 and quash the same as illegal, incompetent, irregular and without jurisdiction and for consequential orders.

2. The petitioner's father made an application for electricity service connection in S.No.7/6 in the year 1972 and the service connection was effected. After noticing that the electricity service connection was installed in S.No.7/19C instead of S.No.7/6, the respondents initiated proceedings against the petitioner and passed the impugned order. Challenging the same, the petitioner has filed this writ petition before this Court for appropriate orders.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the electricity service connection was effected in S.No.7/6 on the basis of the application filed by the petitioner's father. Inadvertently, petitioner's father made application in the year 1972 seeking electricity service Page No.2 of 6

connection in S.No.7/6, however actually the service connection was effected in S.No.719C. Hence, on instructions, he submitted that this Court may permit the petitioner to make appropriate application before the 2nd respondent and the 2nd respondent may be directed to regularize the electricity service connection in S.No.7/19C. Accordingly, he prays for appropriate orders.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that this Court may direct the petitioner to make appropriate application for rectification of the service connection in S.No.7/19C. After collecting rectification charges from the petitioner, the electricity service connection will be regularized in S.No.7/19C, as expeditiously as possible.

5. In view of the above submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this Court, without interfering with the impugned order, permits the petitioner to make appropriate application before the 2nd respondent along with rectification charges within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Upon Page No.3 of 6

receipt of the same, the 2nd respondent shall regularize the electricity service connection in S.No.7/19C within a period of four (4) weeks thereafter.

6. The Writ Petition is disposed of in the above terms. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 10.10.2025 Index : Yes / No Speaking order / Non-speaking order sp Page No.4 of 6
