Writ Petition is filed seeking permission to conduct hunger strike at the place called Vellalapatti Ambedkar Thidal, Sandhaipettai.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that, permission was granted to the petitioner's organization to conduct one day hunger strike on 10.11.2023 between 10.00.a.m., to 05.00.p.m., at Vellalapatti Samoothra koodam. The reason for choosing the said place is that, at Sandhaipettai if hunger strike is allowed, it will cause disturbance to the general public.

3. In the light of the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), this Court finds no reason to entertain this petition for the reason that, petitioner cannot choose a place for hunger strike where large number of public would gather. If any person indulge in disturbing the public peace, in the name of protest, police is expected to take severe action against them in accordance with law. 2/4
