Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the representation made on 13/01/2025 and provide medical card and free train ticket pass to the petitioner. With consent on either side, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the representation made on 13/01/2025 and provide medical card and free train ticket pass to the petitioner.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner, who is a widow of the freedom fighter had obtained central government freedom fighter dependent pension on 12.06.2024. Since the Central Government is providing medical card to cure health issues for the dependent of freedom fighters, the petitioner made a representation to the respondent on 13.01.2025 seeking free train ticket for her and for a person, who could accompany her during travel, on account of multiple diseases and partial paralyze suffered by her. However, the same has not been considered, hence this petition.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner contended that it 2/4

would suffice for this Court to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law.

5. Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondent would contend that the grievance of the petitioner will be considered only by the Zonal Officer or Divisional Officer of the respondent.

In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court hereby directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.01.2025 on merits and pass appropriate orders with liberty to the petitioner to approach the respective personnel / officer to claim the benefits stated in the representation as expeditiously as possible. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
