The prayer sought for herein is for a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to pass orders on the appeal dated 24.05.2022. 1 / 4

2. In respect of a property at S.No.292/15 at Paiyanur Village, Thirupporur Taluk, Chengalpattu District to the extent of 1.93 Ares, when the petitioner made an application for issuance of Patta, the same was rejected by the third respondent Tahsildar by his proceedings dated 27.04.2022 stating the reason that the land belongs to the Government as it has been categorised as 'Vyj;jupR' and therefore, for such kind of Government Poramboke land Patta cannot be issued.

3. As against the said order, the petitioner preferred an appeal on 24.05.2022 before the second respondent Revenue Divisional Officer and in order to consider the said appeal, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. Learned Government Advocate would submit that the appeal would be considered and disposed of on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

5. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for herein and having regard to the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following order. 2 / 4

"That there shall be a direction to the second respondent / Revenue Divisional Officer to consider and pass orders on the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 24.05.2022 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
