The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 08.08.2025 for the offences punishable under Section 7(a) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 as amended in 2018 in Crime No.13/AC/2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner herein is employed as a Junior Assistant in Gorimedu Workers Welfare Department Office and demanded Rs.20,000/- for name transfer of the union and finally, after negotiation, the amount was reduced to Rs.18,000/-. 3.The said bribe money smeared with phenolphthalein power was recovered from the petitioner's shirt packet and the phenolphthalein test is proved to be positive.

4. For th said circumstances, it is not a fit case for granting bail. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 01.09.2025 ari Note :
