ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondent to give permission and police protection to conduct Cultural Programme (Adal Padal Nigalchi) in the event of Varagur Village Arulmigu Sree Mariyamman & Sellandiyamman Temple Festival at Senthamangalam Taluk, Namakkal District on 07.12.2022 between 06.00 p.m. to 11.00 pm. by considering the petitioner's representation dated 25.11.2022

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that in order to conduct cultural programme on 07.12.2022, from 6.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m., in the event of Varagur Village Arulmigu Sree Mariyamman & Sellandiyamman Temple Festival at Senthamangalam Taluk, Namakkal District, the petitioner has sent a representation, dated 25.11.2022 to the respondent. But, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing for the respondents submitted that the respondent police has received the representation of the petitioner and the same is pending for consideration.

4. I have considered the submission of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police.

5. It is brought to the notice of this Court that the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, had issued a circular memorandum in Rc.007301/Genl.I(1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019, along with instructions to the Inspectors of Police throughout Tamil Nadu for consideration of applications seeking permission for conducting cultural programme. Therefore, in view of the detailed circular and guidelines issued by the Director General of Police, the respondent police is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.11.2022 and pass suitable orders based on the above said circular.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed. 30.11.2022 bkn
