ORDER
The writ petition has been filed, seeking for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records of the 2 nd respondent in Ka.No.011319/567/NeBe.2/Ne.U.2/Co.Va.Ve/2021, dated 18.12.2021 and quash the same as illegal, incompetent and ultravires and to direct the respondents to give appointment to petitioner on compassionate ground.
2. The case of the petitioner is that her husband, who was the sole breadwinner of the family and employed as a Commercial Inspector, passed away on 17.08.2021. The petitioner submitted an application before the second respondent on 10.12.2021 seeking appointment on compassionate grounds along with necessary documents. The said application was rejected on the
ground that the petitioner had completed 50 years and 8 months at the time of submission and therefore, exceeded the prescribed age limit. Challenging the same, the writ petition has been filed.

When the matter is taken up today, the learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that as per TANGEDCO Proceedings No:11 (Adm Br) dated 11.06.2020, the maximum age limit for the spouse seeking compassionate appointment is 50 years and the applicant should not have crossed 50 years as on the date of death of the employee. Since the petitioner, on the date of application was aged about 50 years and 8 months, her application was rightly rejected by the second respondent.
4. This Court, taking into consideration the above facts and the governing proceedings, holds that the petitioner having crossed 50 years of age on the date of application, is not entitled for appointment on compassionate grounds.
5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
