ORDER

This Suo Motu case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.)No.618 of 2025. 2.This case is registered in Cr.No.82 of 2018 for the alleged offences under Sections 279 of the I.P.C. and Sections 134 (a), 134 (b), 187, 304 (A), 181 (3), 5, 180, 146, 196, 156, 177 of Motor Vehilces Act, 1988 and 50 of the Page No.1 of 4

Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 The accident was occurred on 17.06.2018. It is reported that compensation has been received. The accused has no previous or subsequent case pending against him. 3.Considering the factual matrix, context of the case, the antecedents of the accused, the reason for absence from his usual place, and the submission that, despite best efforts, summons could not be served, it is evident that even if the accused is brought to face trial, it would impinge upon his right to a speedy trial. Due to the passage of time, a meaningful trial is unlikely, and no useful purpose would be served.

4.Accordingly, the case in C.C.No.5412 of 2020 of VI Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore Taluk, Chennai stands quashed. This Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.
