act, conclude the proceedings initiated by the 2nd respondent vide proceeding in Na.Ka.No.3353/2024/A1 dated 17.8.2024, adjudicating the public interest of harijan people vis-á-vis the private interest of the objection respondents 4 to 7, in acquiring few sq.ft of lands in Grama Natham S.No.508/29 and Punja Survey no.293/1A, of Poondi Village, Thiruvallur Taluk and District, for completing the link between the acquired approach road and the village link road, enabling taking of Harijan corpses to the burial ground in S.No.114 & 115 of Poondi Village, Thiruvallur Taluk and District, in compliance of the order dated 2.2.2024 passed by this Court in W.P.No.22374/2021.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The prayer is only for a writ of mandamus to direct respondents 1 and 2 to conclude the proceedings initiated by respondent No.2 expeditiously.

2. Sri.Prabakar states there is a conciliation meeting fixed for 27.11.2024 by respondent No.2 and based on that, further steps will be taken. Sri Prabakar requests that time till 31.01.2025 be given to see if the matter could be resolved amicably or else adjudicate the issue. In our view, that is the reasonable request made by Sri.Prabakar.

3. The Revenue Divisional Officer, that is respondent No.2 before whom the proceedings have been initiated, shall conclude the proceedings as soon as possible and in any event, conclude the same on or before 31.01.2025.
