Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the representation given by the petitioner on 12.09.2019 for reduction in sanctioned demand by 2800KVA i.e from 8300 KVA to 5500 KVA to its HT Service Connection No.272 with immediate effect.

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2.Heard Mr.N.L.Rajah, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.K.Rameshwar, learned standing counsel, who takes notice for respondents 1 & 2. 3.The petitioner company is involved in manufacturing of steel billets and ingots having high tension service connection under the jurisdiction of the second respondent. The petitioner has been sanctioned a maximum demand of 3250 KVA and further demand of 6508 KVA, totally a maximum demand of 9758 KVA. Due to slow down in the market, the petitioner has sought for reduction of demand and the same was accepted by the second respondent and reduced the demand from 9758 KVA to 5500 KVA. In the light of the expansion of his unit, he sought for additional demand of 2800 KVA was sanctioned on certain condition. Now, the grievance of the petitioner is that he has requested the second respondent to reduce the sanctioned demand by 2800 KVA vide letter dated 12.09.2019, which has not yet been disposed of. Hence, he seeks Mandamus to dispose of his representation dated 12.09.2019.
4.The learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents pointing out the communication of the second respondent to the petitioner vide letter dated 24.10.2019 states that the application of the petitioner has been forwarded to the higher authority for approval and after receiving the approval, the application will be processed further.
5.In the light of the above communication, it is suffice to direct the second respondent to process the application of the petitioner dated 12.09.2019 and pass order within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
