The petitioner herein seek anticipatory bail in Crime No.805 of 2023 registered by the respondent Police for the offences under Sections 419, 385, 506(i) IPC.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that he has been falsely implicated as an accused in this case. He is innocent. Thus, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
3. It is stated that the defacto complainant is a public relations officer, working at Collector Office at Kallakurichi. The petitioner is the named accused in the First Information Report.
4. The case of the prosecution is that the accused persons stating that they were reporters threatened the defacto complainant that they would give false information against the Government officials.
5. It is stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the 1st 1/3
accused is the main person and that he has been registered in the Office of the Registrar of Newspapers for India for Indraiya Thamizhagam.
6. But however, the 1st accused had been arrested and is still in custody. The 2nd accused is absconding. The petitioner is the 3rd accused.
7. Taking into consideration the nature of the allegations, particularly that the Government officials were prevented by the petitioner and other accused from discharging their duty, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
