PRAYER :

Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of mandamus,

directing the respondents 3 to 6 not to interfere in carrying of the business by the petitioner within the purview of Cigarette and other Tobacco Products Act, 2003.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 3 to 6 not to interfere with the business of the petitioner.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that this writ petition has been filed in the year 2017 since there was harassment by the respondents by interfering with the business activity of the petitioner. After filing the writ petition, there was no harassment and the respondents have not been interfering with the business of the petitioner.

3. Mr.V.Nanmaran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 6 submits that the respondents had not committed the offence of harassment even prior to filing of the present Writ Petition as alleged by the petitioner and if at all any such interference was made, it was only in accordance with law.

4. In view of the above, no orders are necessary in this Writ Petition. However, it is needless to mention that in the event of any illegality committed by the petitioner, the respondents are always at liberty to take appropriate action in accordance with law. At the same, the respondents are directed not to interfere unnecessarily with the business of the petitioner.

5. With the above observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
