ORDER

The petitioner is an Institution and seeks a mandamus directing the first respondent to consider its representation dated 30.09.2023. Inter alia, the petitioner has requested R1 / the Additional Director of Medical Education / Secretary Selection Committee to conduct another round of counselling to allot two vacant MBBS seats available in the petitioner's Institution for academic year 2023 - 2024. Such an allotment can be made only upon approval being granted by R2 / National Medical Counsel. 2.

Mr.UM. Ravichandran, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for R1 and Ms.Shubaranjani Ananth, accepts notice for R2.

Since the prayer for a mandamus simplicitor and the 2/4

decision would have to be taken by R2 bearing in mind the applicable Rules and Regulations as well as consistency of approach in this matter qua all the States, this Court leave it to the respondents to take a view on the petitioner's representation. Thus, R1 will obtain inputs from R2, hear the petitioner and dispose the petitioner's representation dated 30.09.2023 expeditiously and in any event within a period of two weeks from today. 4.

Writ petition stands disposed in above terms. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
