The petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.193 of 2023 registered under Section 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) Order 1982 r/w 7(1)9a)(ii) of E.C.Act.

2.It is stated that on 20.6.2023, the respondent seized a Vehicle bearing Registration No.TN-70-A-2056 along with 17,600 kgs of rice from the Lorry and also from the godown. The petitioner is the owner of the godown and he had leased out the godown. It is stated that the petitioner/A1 and A2 are doing the business. The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that independently an enquiry is on going under Section 6 of the EC Act, 1947, relating to determining whether the seized rice are PDS rice or not. That is an independent aspect. So far as transport of rice and seizure is concerned, the petitioner will necessarily have to face the trial.
