ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider and pass final orders on the petitioner's representation dated 16.08.2022, to fix the basic salary at the time of his retirement on 28.02.2019, on par with the similarly placed employees.

2. Heard Mr.V. Lakshmi Narayanan, learned counsel for the petitioner. Mr.L.S.M. Hasan Fizal, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of both the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that similarly placed employees were granted higher basic salary at the time of the petitioner's retirement from service which fell on 28.02.2019. To rectify the pay anomaly, the petitioner has given a representation on 16.08.2022 to the respondents. Since the representation has not been considered till date, he has filed this 2/4

Writ Petition.

4. No prejudice will be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation as stated supra, is considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the second respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, on the petitioner's representation dated 16.08.2022, requesting to fix his basic salary at the time of his retirement on 28.02.2019, on par with the similarly placed employees, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
