ORDER

With the consent of both the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner, on reaching the age of 60 years on 30.04.2022, was permitted to retire from service. He now claims that his date of birth has been wrongly entered in the Service Register and his correct date of birth is 15.01.1965.

3. The alteration of the date of birth of a Government employee in the service records can be sought for, only within a period of five years from the date of entry into service, as per Section 59(2) of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016. This apart, the petitioner has already retired from service on 30.04.2022 and seeking alteration of his date of birth now, is impermissible in law. 2/4

4. In the light of the above observations, there are no merits, in the present claim of the petitioner. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
