The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police, for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 108 and 62 of BNS Act, 2023, in Crime No.452 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seek anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant had borrowed money from the petitioner, for which the petitioner charged exorbitant interest. When the defacto complainant was unable to repay the money with interest, his property was allegedly got registered in the name of the petitioner. In this regard, the defacto complainant is said to have consumed rat poison in an attempt to commit suicide, however, he survived and his statement indicates that the petitioner had grabbed his land for the money advanced, while charging exorbitant interest.
3. Taking note of the gravity of the offence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
