O R D E R

Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.07.2019 and pass orders.

2. Heard both sides and perused the records. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

3. The case of the petitioners is that the petitioner was appointed as Junior Engineer (Training) in the erstwhile Pallavan Transport Corporation, Chennai on 18.12.1996. The petitioner was suspended from service on 17.06.1997 on administrative grounds and after completion of proceedings, the petitioner was reinstated into service on 16.08.2000 and absorbed into Pallavan Transport Corporation much after similarly placed personnel. Due to the said suspension, his service came to be regularised only in the year 2009 instead of 01.01.1998 i.e. after 33 months. Hence the petitioner made representation to the respondent on 30.07.2019 to treat the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

said period of 33 months as service, since the same would seriously affect his future promotion and retirement benefits. However, the respondent has not considered the same till date, the petitioner has come out with the present writ petition.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.07.2019 and pass appropriate orders within the reasonable time.

4. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court hereby directs the respondent to consider the representation dated 31.07.2019 made by the petitioner by taking into account the period of 33 months and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
