The prayer in the Writ Petition reads as follows:- directing the 1st respondent to take appropriate action as against the respondents 5 and 6 by invoking Protection of Life and Property of Senior Citizens as contemplated under the Maintenance & Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 based on the petitioner's representations dated 16.09.2022 and 17.10.2022 and to pass appropriate orders in that regard within the stipulated time.
2.Of course, it should be stated that the representations made by the petitioner to the District Collector are not very clear and they do not state even the provision under which, the protection or maintenance is sought for.

3.Mr.D.Thirumoorthy, learned counsel appearing for the petitiner would submit that she being an illiterate lady without any support she had sent these representations but the object was to seek maintenance. 4.Considering the nature of the grievance and the powers of the maintenance tribunal namely, the District Collector under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the District Collector, Raniept to treat the representation of the petitioner dated 17.10.2022 as one under Section 5 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act and dispose of the same in accordance with the provisions of the said Act within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
