Mr.R.Saseetharan Common Judgment (Judgment of the Court was delivered by S.M.Subramaniam J.) By consent of both parties, the writ appeals are taken up for final disposal.

2. The Director of Elementary Education is the appellant before this Court.

3. The respondents filed writ petitions seeking stepping up of pay to the level of their junior one Mr.S.Sivamuthu and fix their pay at Rs.25,710/- as on 05.03.2012 and pay the arrears of pay consequently.

4. The issue regarding claiming stepping up of pay by a senior citing juniors were adjudicated and the Division Bench of this Court passed an order on 04.12.2023 in a batch of writ appeals in W.A.(MD) Nos.764 to 773 of 2023 etc. batch. The Government, in pursuant to the order of the Court, issued G.O.Ms.No.164, School Education Department, dated 16.07.2025. The Government Order provides eligibility conditions and other criteria for stepping up of pay by citing the juniors. Therefore, the case of the respondents herein also to be considered in terms of G.O.Ms.No.164 School Education Department dated 16.07.2025. The said exercise is directed to be completed as expeditious as possible.
