The writ petition is filed for the issue of a mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.09.2022 and 20.10.2022 by making necessary corrections in the online patta with the petitioner's details in the said property.

The petitioner would claim that he is seized and possessed all the properties situate at Door No.11, Anjaneya Nagar, 2nd lane, Royapuram, Chennai-600013 comprised in S.No.20/170, Block No.2, Collector Patta No.J1:25179/93 dated 14.03.1996, Tondiarpet Village, Fort Tondiarpet Taluk, measuring 350 Sq.Ft.

The petitioner's grievance is that in the online patta for the abovementioned property, the name of the owner, address, and extent of land are wrongly stated, though the survey number, block, ward, and district are correctly stated. Therefore, for the necessary correction in the online patta, the petitioner had given a representation to the 1st respondent on 07.09.2022 and again to the 2nd respondent on 20.10.2022. 2nd respondent had sent a communication dated 31.10.2022 to the 3rd respondent calling upon him to conduct a land investigation and submit a detailed report. However, the said exercise has not been done by the 3rd respondent to date. Thereafter, on 25.06.2024, the petitioner had sent a reminder letter along with earlier representations and relevant documents, which has also not been considered. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.
4. Heard the counsel on either side.
5. Considering the facts set out above, a mandamus is issued to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 07.09.2022 and 20.10.2022 within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
