Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 3 & 4 to consider the representation, dated 25.09.2024 and to pay compensation for the untimely death of my son due to falling of HT Electric line in the KottakaraiAlankuppam Road. ORDER
The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents 3 & 4 to consider her representation dated 25.09.2024 seeking compensation for the untimely death of his son due to falling of HT Electric line in the KottakaraiAlankuppam Road.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that his son Abhishek aged about 20 years died due to electrocution as he came in touch with snapped 2/6
HT Electric line in the Kottakarai-Alankuppam Road. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation before the fourth respondent on 25.09.2024 seeking compensation for the death due to electrocution and the same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Mr.V.Venkata Seshaiya, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for the respondents 1, 3 & 4 and Mr.S.Balamurugan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the second respondent.
4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1, 3 & 4 would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law, within a time frame fixed by this Court.
5. In view of the same, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the fourth respondent to forward the representation of the petitioner dated 25.09.2024 submitted by the petitioner to the third respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The third respondent shall 3/6
consider the representation and pass final order, on its own merits, within a further period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of such representation, after giving due opportunity to the petitioner.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
