PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 09.05.2022 for allotment of a bunk shop in Madhakoil East street, Royapuram or opposite

of Anna Arivalayam in Kalmandapam, chennai.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the third respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.05.2022.

2. According to the petitioner, he is a physically challenged person and he made a representation dated 10.11.2022 to the first respondent for allotment of a bunk shop in Madhakoil East Street, Royapuram or opposite of Anna Arivalayam in Kalmandapam, Chennai. However, the same has not been considered by the respondents. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. Mrs.P.T.Ramadevi, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents and submits that on 27.04.2022, this Court disposed of a Writ Petition in W.P.No.6799 of 2022 holding that the constitution of the Town Vending Committee was illegal and accordingly, the order/notification issued by the respondents was struck down. However, liberty was granted to the Greater Chennai Corporation to constitute a Town Vending Committee as per the provisions of law, since the existing Town Vending Committee was quashed by this Court. The Greater Chennai Corporation has submitted a proposal to the Government of Tamil Nadu to form a new Town Vending Committee as per the directions of this Court. It is further submitted that the representation of the petitioner dated 10.11.2022 will be considered by the Chairman of Town Vending Committee after the formation of new Town Vending Committee.

4. In such view of the matter, as soon as the new Town Vending Committee is formed, it shall consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders on merits.

5. With these observations, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
