ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.The case, Cr.No.350 of 2021 was registered for an alleged offence under Section 4 (1) (k) of the TN Prohibition Act. The incident occurred on 29.03.2021. The accused was found in possession of liquor bottles less than 4.5 litres, which is permitted quantity for individual consumption. The case is pending from the year 2021 and it is posted at the stage of summons. Considering the factual matrix and context, any further continuance of the proceedings will impinge upon the right of the accused for speedy trial. Accordingly, the proceedings in STC.No.483 of 2021 on the file of the Court of District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Vazhapadi Taluk, Salem District, is quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of. 08.09.2025 Jer electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
