ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.The case, Cr.No.201 of 2018 was registered for an alleged offences under Section 11 (1) (a) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, Section 12 of the TN Gaming Act, 1930, Section 289, 336 and 506 (ii) of IPC. The incident occurred on 04.08.2018. The allegation is that the accused indulged in cruelty of animals by arranging for a rooster fight show. There is no previous case or subsequent case as against the accused. The case is pending from the year 2019 and the accused appearing before the Trial Court. Considering the factual matrix and context, any further continuance of the proceedings will impinge upon the right of the accused for speedy trial. Accordingly, the proceedings in CC.No.7 of 2019 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Dharapuram, Dharapuram Taluk, Tiruppur, is quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of. 08.09.2025 Jer electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
