....Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.08.2024 in accordance with law within the stipulated time and direct the respondents 1 and 2 to change the name of the petitioner's son as Arul Kumar, instead of Deepan Prakash in the Birth Certificate of his son born on 08.08.1983 with Registration No.049/1983/62/00737 dated 12.08.1983.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.08.2024 to change the name of the petitioner's son as Arul Kumar, instead of Deepan Prakash in the Birth Certificate of his son, who was born on 08.08.1983.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner made a representation to the respondents on 24.08.2024 to change his son's name as Arul Kumar in the Birth Certificate, however, the same has not been considered so far. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the respondents are directed to dispose of the representations of the petitioner, dated 24.08.2024 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents has no serious objection for such an order being passed by this Court.

5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 24.08.2024 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
