The petitioner has filed this Writ petition seeking direction to the 1st respondent to issue passport to the petitioner, by considering his Application file No.TR2076992344524 dated 03.10.2024.
2. Mr.R.Subramanian, learned Additional Central Government Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of the 1st respondent, Mr.L.Baskaran, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) takes notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, this Writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that, the petitioner obtained P type passport bearing No.M2292099 on 24.10.2014 and was working in Singapore. While so, as the said passport was going to expire on 23.10.2024, the petitioner made an application for renewal of the same, vide Application file No.TR2076992344524 dated 03.10.2024. However, till date, no orders have been passed on the said application. Hence, this Writ petition. Page No.2 of 5

Though very many grounds have been raised, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's Application file No.TR2076992344524 dated 03.10.2024 and to consequently, issue passport in favour of the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible.
5. Learned Additional Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the 1st respondent submitted that, appropriate orders will be passed on the petitioner's application dated 03.10.2024 within the time stipulated by this Court.
6. On the above said contentions, heard learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing on behalf of the 2nd respondent and perused the materials placed on record.
7. In view of the aforesaid submissions, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's Application file No.TR2076992344524 dated 03.10.2024 on merits and in Page No.3 of 5
accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and aggrieved persons, if any.
8. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
