The petitioner who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 08.10.2023 for the offences under Sections 147, 148, 294(b), 324 and 307 of IPC in Crime No.197 of 2023 on the file of the respondent Police, seeks bail.

2.It is stated that the petitioner is a student of Presidency College and there was a group class between the students of two separate colleges. When the injured person and his friends were waiting at Beach Railway Station, the petitioner herein and the named second accused and several other accused attacked the injured on the head by using knife. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that the petitioner has been in custody for past 23 days and that he is a student. 4.It is also seen that A2 is still absconding and the other accused who are said to have committed the offence are also absconding. 5.At this stage, the investigation can never proceed and can never even start.
