Considering the limited prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, this Writ Petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage with the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side.

2. The prayer in the writ petition reads as follows:- To direct the 1st respondent to restore the Electricity Connection in EB Card No.435-114-100 situated at No.347, M.T.H.Road, Ambattur, Chennai - 600 053 within a stipulated time framed by this Court.

3. Apparently there is a dispute between the petitioner, who is the tenant and his landlord. A perusal of the typed papers shows that there is a proceeding under the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017 are pending before the competent forum. Section 20 of the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017 provides for a machinery for restoration of electricity supply.

4. In the light of the available alternative remedy I do not think the petitioner can invoke Article 226 of the Constitution of India. Hence, the writ petition is dismissed, leaving it open to the petitioner to approach the appropriate Authority under the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017.
