When filing the writ petition, the pleadings were based on the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation Act, 1981. But however, it had come to light that the governing Act is the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act, 1998 which had come into effect in the year 1923 even for Coimbatore Municipal.

2. In view of that particular fact all these four petitions have been filed seeking to amend the specific portions of the ground in the affidavit and in the grounds of the writ petition and whenever mention has been made with reference to Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981 and insert an equivalent provisions and pleadings relating to Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act, 1998. Taking into consideration that there is no material shift in the nature of the pleadings, these petitions stands allowed.

3. Registry is directed to carry out the necessary amendment in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and in every other place https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis were amendment is required.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner may file amended copy to the learned counsel for the respondents. Writ petition to be argued on 09.12.2024. Counter to be filed by then.
