The petitioner is an accused in Crime No.171 of 2023 registered for the offences under Sections 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(B) NDPS Act, with respect to an occurrence which took place on 29.08.2023 seeks bail. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side).

3.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) stated that the respondent received an information and went over to Salem Railway Station Platform No.4 and searched the train and found a person with white colour bag containing 16 kgs of ganja. The train was coming from Bilaspur and going to Ernakulam. It is further stated that the petitioner had railway ticket for general compartment.

4.The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that it is only an intermediate quantity.

gd 5.But however, taking into consideration the fact that further investigation will have to be done about the involvement of any other persons of similar in nature, therefore, at this stage, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
