The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondent to consider his representation dated 03.06.2024 and to refund the amount of Rs.1,22,636/- paid by the petitioner's husband late Ravichandran vide Application reference number 20009456022325 dated 06.02.2023 with receipt no. PGCICI1502496079 of the TANGEDCO payment portal dated 13.02.2023 for electrical connection in the premises situated in survey No.17/C and 17/4 Kodipallam, Arumandai, Ponneri Taluk, along with attendant interest.
2. By consent of both the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as respondent, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that her husband late Ravichandran filed an application seeking new electricity service connection for the above mentioned premises and deposited a sum of Rs.1,22,636/-. Now, the 2/5
petitioner's husband died on 02.12.2023, leaving behind the petitioner and her three children as his legal representatives. The application submitted by the petitioner's husband was also rejected by the respondent. In such circumstances, the petitioner is entitled to refund of the amount deposited by the petitioner's husband as a condition for filing the application. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 03.06.2024, seeking refund of amount by giving details of the account and the same has not been considered till date. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for the respondent would submit that the petitioner shall update the following details in the on-line portal namely (i) Account details, (ii) legal heirship certificate and (iii) no objection certificate from the other legal heirs. If all the details are uploaded then the Assistant Engineer, Arumandai will be in a position to consider the petitioner's representation seeking refund of the deposit amount.
5. In view of the above submission made by the learned Standing Counsel, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the petitioner to update the above 3/5
mentioned details in the on-line portal of the respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order and communicate the facts of updation of required details to the concerned official viz., the Assistant Engineer, Arumandai, Ponneri Taluk. The said authority shall consider the same and final orders shall be passed on its own merits, within a period of four weeks from the date of updation of the details. The Registry is directed to mark a copy of this order to the he Assistant Engineer, Arumandai, Ponneri Taluk.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
