Heard Mr.T.Sundaravadanam, learned counsel for the applicant, Mr.A.Edwin Prabakar, learned State Government Pleader for non-applicants 1 to 4 and Mr.C.Vigneswaran, learned counsel for non-applicant 5.

2. The present application is filed seeking leave to file an appeal against the judgment delivered by the learned Single Judge in W.P.No.23097 of 2023 dated 14.09.2023.

3. Under the said order, the learned Single Judge set aside the order of the District Collector and directed that the President and the Vice President of the Panchayat are competent to sign the cheques.

4. The present applicant is the President of the Panchayat. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the present application

was filed because the Vice President was not cooperating in signing the cheques.

5. On the last date, learned counsel for the non-applicant 5 appeared and assured that the Vice President would cooperate in signing the cheques as would be necessary. He has also placed on record the copies of the cheques signed by the Vice President along with the President of the Panchayat.

6. In the light of that, the apprehension of the applicant, that the Vice President is not signing the cheques, would not subsist.

7. With these observations, the present application stands disposed of. Consequently, the appeal also stands disposed of at the SR stage itself. There shall be no order as to costs. (S.V.G., CJ.) (D.B.C., J.) 29.01.2024 drm
