O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned proceedings of the second respondent dated 02.02.2024 whereby the petitioner was kept under suspension and for a consequential direction to the first respondent to reinstate the petitioner into service within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2. Heard Mr.A.Navaneethakrishnan, learned Senior Counsel appearing for petitioner and Mr.B.Vijay, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents.

The case of the petitioner is that he was working as a Sub Registrar and based on a First Information Report, which came to be registered in Crime No.1 of 2024, the petitioner was arrested and remanded to judicial custody. In view of the same, the order of suspension came to be passed by the second respondent on 02.02.2024.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that a false case has been 2/4

foisted against the petitioner and that the petitioner has been kept under prolonged suspension. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation in this regard on 25.07.2024. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

In the considered view of this Court, it is not necessary for this Court to deal with the order of suspension at this stage since the petitioner has already made a representation to the respondents seeking to revoke the order of suspension and to reinstate the petitioner into service. Therefore, it will suffice if a direction is issued to the respondents to deal with such representation.

6. In the light of the above discussion, the second respondent is directed to deal with the representation of the petitioner dated 25.07.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass necessary orders within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
