ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner who is a ex- Panchayat Member of Kavilipalayam Village Panchayat for grant of fishing rights in Kavilipalayam Village that comes within the jurisdiction of the Panchayat pursuant to the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.6819 of 2023 etc., batch cases dated 21.06.2023.
2.Heard Mr.S.Gopinath, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.E.Vijay Anand, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.
3.The specific case of the petitioner is that there is no Society involved in this case and therefore, the respondents will have to follow Revenue Standing Order 211 and the second priority must be given to the Panchayat. Accordingly, the petitioner claims that the fishing rights in Kavilipalayam lake that comes within the jurisdiction of the Kavilipalayam Village Panchayat must be
4/6 considered in line with the earlier order passed by this Court in a batch of writ petitions in W.P.No.6819 of 2023 etc., 4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner and take a decision and convey the same to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 5.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions.
